Mocha Frappucino no more!

I have really done well in regards to not drinking coffee anymore and I am definitely proud of that! Today was an off day though and I felt drained and so tired from fighting this sinus infection that I needed something to get me going again.

I decided that I would have a cup of coffee today! Instead of heading to Starbucks for a $4-$5 Mocha Frappucino that adds an insane amount of calories to my day and always leaves me feeling guilty in the end anyways, I decided to try something with my Shakeology! :)

I brewed a large Irish Cream K-cup and let that cool down while I added a cup of ice and a scoop of Chocolate Shakeology to my blender. I added a few pieces of ice to the coffee to cool it down even quicker since you don't want to heat up the Shakeology and kill any of the 70+ nutrients in it. Then added the coffee with a cup of Vanilla almond milk as well! Blend blend blend!! :)

I am sitting here drinking it as I type and cannot even tell you how satisfying this is to me flavor wise and I do not even feel remotely guilty! Instead I know I am giving my body the best nutrition it can get with that extra caffeine I needed today! I won't do this often as I am not a huge caffeine person normally, but this was an incredible fix and will be something I come back to!

It made more than enough that I was able to put a cup in the freezer for when my husband gets home in a few minutes to enjoy!! :)

imPRESS Press-on Manicure

I am absolutely in love with this product! I received the opportunity to try this press-on manicure through my holiday VoxBox from Influenster this past month. I used this this press on manicure for a holiday party my husband and I were attending. I was absolutely floored at just how quick and easy these nails were to apply. Unlike products that normally ask you to apply glue and stick on, these had tabs that you simply peeled off and pressed on. I was able to have my nails on and ready to go before my husband even finished shaving! :) Now I have used similar products in the past and found that they begin to come off mid party and embarrassingly I have to pull the rest of the nails off.

These nails kept going and going though....through my birthday party, birthday dinner, and a lunch out with my friends a couple days later. The price is incredibly impressive at $5.99 for the solid colors and $7.99 for patterns. In a hurry out for a dinner and didn't get your nails done? I am sure you could swing into the nearest drugstore and have these on ready to go in about 10 minutes. I will absolutely continue to purchase this product and keep a couple on hand should something come up!

NYC New York Color Lipshine

I recently received a complimentary NYC New York Color Lip Shine from Influenster's VoxBox program last month to test and review. I am really picky when it comes to using lip shines because the majority that I have tried in the past have been so sticky that my hair ends up getting stuck to my lips. I really love how easy this product was to apply and the fact that it didn't feel sticky to my lips. The color is subtle (I had Nude York City) and it was a nice shine that lasted long enough to enjoy a dinner out with my husband. At the price of this product, there really is not another brand that can compare!

Here is some product information from the website:

NYC New York Color Liquid Lipshine

Straight from the city that never sleeps, NYC New York Color offers products with uptown style at down-to-earth prices, from $.99 - $4.99. The energy, style and color of New York City shines through the wide range of shades, textures and innovative products. NYC always delivers the most on-trend products & shades hot off the runway!

A beauty-editor favorite is Liquid Lipshine ($2.49). It has pure pigments that created a 3-D gloss effect. Vitamin E provides shine and a moisturizing feel. The formula is non-sticky, super shiny & soft. Available in 10 on-trend shades from neutral nudes, to berries & fuchsias. Start shopping for NYC at these stores nearest you: Walmart, Target, Rite Aid, CVS, Family Dollar, Duane Reade, Kmart, HEB, and others. Visit newyorkcolor.com to check out all shades and fun products from New York Color!

Chocovine

Delicious! I happened to pass by this bottle at Costco last night and was intrigued. "The taste of dutch chocolate and fine red wine". I'm not a huge chocolate person, but it intrigued me. At 14% alcohol and the color/consistency of a Yoohoo drink, I was sold. It was $7.98 for the bottle and I believe one of my friends had stated she just purchased it but wasn't too sure on trying it. It is a blend of rich dark chocolate and Cabernet red wine. I can't describe it much more than to say it was definitely a dessert in my mouth lol. I found the flavor mild and refreshing, it brought back memories of drinking chocolate milk (something I don't do anymore) as a child. I would highly recommend this to friends that favor sweets and want to dabble in wine. As well, I would recommend this to my friend who are wine connoisseur's striving to find new varieties to try. The website is http://www.chocovine.com/ so definitely check it out and consider pairing it with your dessert for the evening :)

Watch out for the chocolate mustache that is certain to be left behind by enjoying this fine beverage lol :)

The Traveling Vineyard

I'm really interested in wine (of course) so when I heard about this at home business, it sounded perfect! I just signed up as there was a special this month for $100 of the kit and it came with two tasting sets. I think for my first tasting party I am going to host it at my house so my husband can try out the wine as well. I just wanted to share since I'm pretty excited right now as this is something I really am passionate about and I really enjoy the art of wine tasting. You can check out the site at Bubbly if you are curious about it or maybe interested in the business or hosting a wine tasting in San Diego. Hope everyone is having a great week, the weekend is almost here! :)

Finding me....

I've come to the realization that I need to give up the facade that things are always great. They're not...and they're not for most people. What I have realized is that we have choices in our happiness and unhappiness BUT, we do have the right to sometimes have a bad day, maybe an extra glass of wine, and just overall be in a bad mood. Life is full of ups and downs, how we get through them is what makes us who we are. Sounds a bit cliche I'm aware, but it is a true statement. Everyday we are put into situations where we have choices in how to react, and only I can choose the outcome. It's kind of like those books we used to read in elementary school about "Choosing your adventure", lol if you remember those! I choose success, happiness, and loving who I am (flaws and all)! Not a vent, just a bit of self realization that came about after a conversation with a good friend.

Wiine of the Week: Tempranillo

This past weekend we decided that a red would be nice to go with the bbq chicken and pasta salad we were having for dinner. I'm usually incredibly apprehensive of bottles that are "twist off", however this one caught my eye. It was perfect at room temperature and a very light red wine. The flavor was fantastic with the bbq and the pasta salad. I think that next time I would probably have steak with it though just because I think it would pair even better. At around $8 a bottle, this is incredibly affordable with a lot of flavor and it has origins of Spain.
